As the new year begins, it’s natural to feel excited about the possibilities ahead. It’s a time for big ideas, new strategies, and the motivation to push ourselves further. But as I’ve learned first-hand, turning those ambitions into reality requires relentless effort and focus.

That time of grief-induced procrastination led to six months of slower growth—a hard lesson in how vital consistent prospecting and networking are for any business. Thankfully, I’ve been able to get things back on track, but the experience reminded me that new business doesn’t happen through good luck.

A Word of Caution: Beware of Fake Influencers

I also talk in this episode about something I see far too often: business leaders wasting time following bad advice from fake influencers. These so-called “role models” promise shortcuts to success, but typically lack the substance to back up their claims.

I highlight some red flags to watch for, like vague claims about their achievements, unrealistic promises, and inflated engagement on social media. If you’re serious about growing your business, it’s important to surround yourself with genuine mentors and focus on proven strategies.
